Corporate Workshops
Nicholas Polo offers corporate self-defence workshops for organisations across London, helping teams build confidence, manage stress, and develop essential personal safety skills. These sessions go beyond just learning how to defend yourself—they focus on empowerment, awareness, and the ability to react effectively in real-life situations.
In his corporate workshops Nicholas usually brings along one of his female students or a fellow self-defence coach. This in order to give the participants a both gender perspective in a role play scenario but also to demonstrate how an experienced Krav Maga individual can defend themselves when attacked by a larger or stronger attacker.
In today’s world, personal safety is a growing concern, and corporate organisations are stepping up to address it. An increasing number of companies in London are recognising the need for women’s self-defence training—not just as a safety measure, but as a way to build confidence, manage stress, and foster team cohesion.
“I design my workshops to cover key areas such as situational awareness, de-escalation, response speed, and explosive techniques,” says Nicholas. “Participants also get hands-on experience with fundamental striking moves like punches, knee strikes, elbow strikes, and kicks.”
The workshops cover aspects like awareness, de-escalation, speed of response, techniques and explosiveness. The sessions include light physical activity for participants to get a feel of basic striking. Sessions incorporate training methods to build a fighting spirit and to train students how to respond both mentally and physically when under attack eliminating the danger of “freezing” or “shutting down”.

Empowering Women in Healthcare:
Self-Defence Workshop at The Cleveland Clinic
Corporate Self Defence Workshop: The Cleveland Clinic, London
At London’s private Cleveland Clinic, 45 female doctors and practitioners came together for a specialized self-defence workshop focused on personal safety and empowerment.
The workshop kicked off with the fundamentals: situational awareness, de-escalation techniques, and how to react quickly under pressure. We talked about real safety threats women face today—stalking, hidden surveillance devices in gyms, random knife attacks, and encounters with people under the influence of drugs.
Then, we got hands-on. The group practised knee strikes, elbow strikes, and kicks—simple but powerful moves designed to be effective in real-life situations. My friend and student, Nicole, helped demonstrate more advanced standing and ground defence techniques, giving everyone a real sense of how these skills could come into play when it matters most.
The Cleveland Clinic workshop is just one example of how self-defence training is empowering women in high-pressure professions, equipping them with the tools to stay safe and in control.
